A meeting of the WHS Athletic Booster Club was held on Tuesday, Nov. 4.
Here is a summary of what happened.

 

*Fall Concessions-The group earned more than $3,000 in concession sale. The total will increase once soccer concession sale money is added.

 

*Fall Sports awards in scheduled for THURSDAY, November 13. Please note that this is different than past awards nights! As usual, the ice cream social will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the awards will begin at 6:30.

 

*Winter Sports practices will begin soon.

        Basketball for boys and girls will be looking for parents to sell concessions during home games. The first boy's home game is on                     Saturday, December 6.

        Wrestling will host the Atlantics Invitational tourney on December 22 and the Western Maine Regional Championships on                                 January  31.  

        Cheerleading will host the Western Maine Regional championships on January 10.

 

*Track State Championship board - The names of champions from 1982-1993 have been sent to the signmaker (Ocean Graphics). We will purchase the board and trim from Morse Lumber soon. We still need names of champions after 1993 and prior to 1983. If you know of any, please let us know as soon as possible. We need the name, year and event.

 

Concession Stand clean up- A few people will be needed to help clean out the concession stands and prep them for winter. This should not take more than a couple of hours if we can get some help. A date will be announced soon and you will receive an email about it.

 

Wells Warriors Trademark- We need someone to help determine what would be involved in trademarking Wells Warriors. This would not be to prohibit local organizations from using it, but be able to keep a handle on how it is used. If you are a lawyer, know a lawyer and/or have some experience or desire to work on this please contact us by reply email asap.

 

WarriorWear -Several stores have been selling Warrior related items and have indicated that the school is receiving some profit from them. No administrators seem to be aware of receiving ANY funds from these stores. We are looking into these claims. The ONLY place for official WarriorWear is on the booster club website. We are going to be contacting businesses for a working relationship in this regard.

        WarriorWear help wanted- Anyone interested in helping with the administration of WarriorWear? There is not a lot to do, but fresh ideas and help are needed. Contact Marty Cryer by reply email if you are interested.

    Letter Jackets- we are looking for a new company to sew varsity letters onto letter jackets and embroider the names. If you know of a person or company that can do please let us know. We currently pay $10 per jacket and would like to keep the cost near the same rate.
